Marla was born in Molina de Segura (Murcia, Spain) and is proud of her Murcian origin. She studied psychology in Valencia, where she also learned to make dreadlocks. By doing her own dreads, she practiced as long as she felt confident enough to make other people’s dreads.
As a professional dreadmaker she loves dreadlocks more than everything. She has always wanted to grant professional dread-making the importance it deserves, by putting a great deal of professionalism, creativity, devotion and kindness into her work, and therefore challenging many clichés about persons with dreads.
Due to her interest in anything related to dreads, she has been regularly in contact with other dreadmakers all over Spain and the world, seeking to share knowledge and to learn new techniques from them.
Benefiting from this professional exchange as well as from the newly gained expertise she acquired in a special vocational training after arriving in Vienna, Marla was able to open Vienna’s first dread shop.
In the dreadshop Rastas Naturales she offers her knowledge and skills to her customers, finding always the best solution to fulfill their individual wishes by using her creativity and professionalism to obtain the expected result.
But her world is not only about dreadlocks. Once she does not hold crochet hooks in her hands, she enjoys spending time with her cats, meeting friends, listening to music of all kinds, going to old movie theaters, taking trips to the countryside or expressing her creativity in other forms of arts, cooking or crocheting.
