The million dolar question

The million dolar question

If there’s a question that we are getting often by social media or e-mails it’s, without a doubt, how long must my hair be to make the dreadlocks?

In our frecuently asked questions-site you can find some answers about it, but we’ll try to delve into the subjetct a bit more with this post.

The minimum hair’s length must be between 10 and 15 cm, although it can vary some cm depending on your hair type. That’s the reason we offer you the possibility to have a previous appointment, totally free, so that we can see your hair and evaluate your specific case. If you can’t come to such an appointment, we can also do it online if you send to us some pictures and videos of your hair.

Making the dreadlocks, the hair’s length is shortened between 5 and 10 cm too, depending on the length and the type of your hair, but with our dreading technique, we reduce that loss to the maximum and we try to keep the original length of your hair.

If you want to have dreadlocks with extensions, so that you have your dreads long from the very beginning, it’s important that you have the mimimum length necessary to make them, because this will give us the centainty that the extensions are going to hold and won’t fall down. We’ll only install you dreadlocks extensions if we think that the quality and strength of the conexions are good and we know, you won’t lose your extensions.

In case you don’t need extensions, the minimum length of your hair should be more or less the same, because if your dreadlocks are too short, it’s possible that they open after they’re made. As always, it depends on your hair type too, so please contact us if you have some questions about it.

We hope this post helped you to clarify a bit your doubts!
